Richard Byrne has edited at a wide range of publications, including Washington City Paper and The Chronicle of Higher Education, and he served as the editor of The Wilson Quarterly from 2019-2021. His writing has appeared in publications including The Washington Post, Time, The Guardian, Foreign Policy, The New Republic, The Nation, The American Prospect and BookForum. Byrne was the recipient of a Pew Fellowship in International Reporting in 1999 and was a German Marshall Fund Journalism Fellow in 2002.
